Letter templates

Write the letters the practice sends, with merge tags for the patient and the practice, and keep every version.

Settings → Letter templates (under Clinical templates) holds the templates letters are generated from. Each has a name, a kind (recall, referral, estimate, statement cover or custom) and a body: paragraphs separated by a blank line, with merge tags.

TagFills with
{{patient.firstName}}, {{patient.lastName}}The patient's name
{{practice.name}}The practice name
{{location.name}}, {{location.phone}}, {{location.address}}The patient's site

The practice starts with an examination recall, a hygiene recall, a referral letter, a treatment estimate cover letter, a missed appointment letter, a welcome letter and a statement cover letter, in the practice's language. The Defaults card at the top of the page restores any that are missing without touching your own.

Every edit is a new version; a letter records the version it was generated from, so an old letter still reads as it was sent. Archive a template you no longer use; its letters stay readable.
