Letters and the waitlist
Generate letters from templates and file them on the patient, and keep patients who are waiting for an earlier or specific appointment on the waitlist.
Letters
Letters sit on the Orders tab of the clinical record, in one list with lab cases, referrals and prescriptions, newest first: each row shows the template and version, the intended delivery and whether it went out.
Click the + icon beside Orders, choose New letter, pick a template (kept under Settings → Letter templates) and the delivery. The template's merge tags are filled from the patient, the practice and its site, the letter is rendered to a PDF and filed on the patient's documents, and the letter is recorded at the template's current version. The row's PDF icon shows it; Mark sent in its ⋯ menu records that it went out.
Printing is the built delivery. Email, SMS link and post are recorded as the intended delivery so the record is complete; the letter is sent by hand and marked sent here.
Waitlist
The Waitlist rows at the foot of the clinical record's Appointments tab record what the patient is waiting for: an appointment as soon as possible, a short-notice slot, or treatment after a referral. The + beside Waitlist adds a request with the site, a priority, the window the patient can attend and a note.
When a slot is offered click Offered; when it is taken up click Booked and pick the appointment from the patient's upcoming ones, or Declined offer to put the request back in the queue. Withdraw closes a request that is no longer wanted. The practice-wide waitlist, highest priority first, sits at the top of the Worklists page.
Lab cases and referrals
Track work sent to a lab through to fitting, and referrals to or from other clinicians through to their outcome.
Worklists
What needs doing across the practice — recalls due, treatment accepted but not booked, notes not yet signed, balances unpaid, lab work back and referrals awaiting an outcome — as lists derived live from the record.
